It was an opportunity to connect with people who think about things that mean a lot to me but are not interesting or important to people in my usual community. And I appreciate the effort and caring that Robert and Geoff put into running the course, and dealt with all the hiccups that are part of any new undertaking. All in all, it was a very worthwhile experience that made me realize how much I want to share my thinking and interests with other people.
As you come to know the seriousness of our situation—the war, the racism, the poverty in the world—you come to realize that it is not going to be changed just by words or demonstrations. It’s a question of risking your life. It’s a question of living your life in drastically different ways.
